CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> CREDIT CARD POLICY <br /> The Pequot Lakes City Council authorizes the use of credit cards for City business. <br /> The Credit Card will be used as another type of payment and is not intended to be <br /> an additional method for creating debt for the City. <br /> Any credit cards used by the City of Pequot Lakes will be approved by the City <br /> Council. <br /> An employee who uses a credit card and does not adhere to the following rules <br /> guiding the use of the credit card may be personally liable for any misuse and may <br /> be subject to discipline according to the personnel policy. <br /> 1. The card may be used only for appropriate City business. <br /> 2. The credit card may only be used to purchase items for City use from entities <br /> that do not invoice the City. <br /> 3. The credit card may not be used for personal use. <br /> 4. The card may not be used to obtain a cash advance. <br /> 5. Credit cards will be kept secured by the City Clerk's office. <br /> 6. Credit cards may be use by a Department Head of the City or by a City <br /> employee with the authorization of the Department Head. <br /> 7. Any employee checking out a credit card for use must complete a "Credit <br /> Card Authorization Form." <br /> 8. A credit card receipt and invoice or cash register receipt must be obtained for <br /> all credit card purchases. <br /> 9. An employee making a credit card purchase must ensure that there are <br /> budgeted funds available to pay for the purchase. <br /> 10. The debt limit on the credit card will be set at$5,000. <br /> 11. The City will pay off the credit card charges on a monthly basis. <br /> Adopted by the City Council on February 7, 2006. <br />
