Sibley Park Public Parking Space
12-29-05
Mike Loven and I a long with Councilman Sjoblad have been looking in to
ways of solving the parking problem that arises in public parking area in
front of Sibley Park.
There is current signage that says "No overnight Parking" The fine amount
for this is $25.
Our dept has been issuing citations for this violation. However, we
sometimes issue them at 3 am, not knowing if that car leaves by 4 am. What
we need is clarification to the term Overnight Parking.
To fix this and to accommodate snow plowing Mike and I would like to see
the signage read "No parking from 2 am — 6 am" This would be for 12
months out of the year. This would also take care of any issues for those
that leave their car there for days at a time.
We think this would also be fair and allow visitors of Janice Pines Apts an
opportunity to use this space, but not for the time mentioned above.
Respectfully,
Je`iy Braam
Chief of Police
