STAFF REPORT <br /> Application: Rezoning from Forestry and Rural Residential to Forest Management and Rural <br /> Residential <br /> Parcel#29027110oE00009,Terri Morris <br /> Parcel#290271201BB0009,Charles Peterson <br /> Parcel#290271402Co0009,Jeffery and Megan Oelke <br /> Applicant: City of Pequot Lakes <br /> Background:The subject properties are located on the east side of Hurtig Road and consist of <br /> the three parcels captioned above.The northernmost property, 2902711ooB00009, is roughly 5 <br /> acres in size, currently undeveloped, and was previously zoned Forestry. The two southern <br /> properties were both previously zoned Rural Residential and both contain existing residential <br /> structures. <br /> These properties were pulled out of the City-wide rezoning last year.This is their separate public <br /> hearing to rezone their properties to a classification in compliance with the new Land Use <br /> Ordinance. One of the property owners has indicated that he would prefer to maintain the <br /> residential zoning classification. <br /> Applicable Statutes: Section 5.1,Subdivision 7 outlines the criteria that should be considered <br /> when amending the official zoning map or establishing a zoning classification: <br /> A. Preservation of natural sensitive areas. <br /> B. Present ownership and development. <br /> C. Shoreland soil types and their engineering capabilities. <br /> D.
