STAFF REPORT <br /> Application: Rezoning from Commercial and Forestry to Forest Management and Rural <br /> Residential <br /> Parcel#2902711ooAAAoo9,Charles Peterson <br /> Parcel#290271100000009,Gary Peterson <br /> Parcel#2902711ooD00009,Thomas Peterson <br /> Applicant: City of Pequot Lakes <br /> Background: The properties in question are located on the southwestern corner of the <br /> intersection of State Highway 371 and County Road 168 and consist of the three parcels <br /> captioned above and shown in the map below.The larger parcel,290271looAAAoo9 is over 26 <br /> acres in size and contains a storage building on the northern portion of the property. Parcel <br /> 290271100Co0009,the northern small tract along the highway,measures 1.4 acres and contains <br /> Tasty Pizza and Learn &Play Day Care Center. The third parcel, 2902711ooD00009, is also 1.4 <br /> acres and is currently vacant. <br /> 3 <br /> t <br /> ry <br /> 00 168 GouMy Rd' 07 <br /> 011 OF 4 <br /> f <br /> These properties were pulled out of the City-wide rezoning last year. Under the previous <br /> Ordinance,the properties were zoned Forestry with the area bordering State Highway extending <br /> back roughly 300 feet being zoned Commercial. <br /> This is their separate public hearing to rezone their properties to a classification in compliance <br /> with the new Land Use Ordinance.The property owners have indicated that they would prefer to <br /> have the portions of their properties previously zoned Commercial to remain as a Commercial <br /> zoning classification. <br /> Applicable Statutes: Section 5.1,Subdivision 7 outlines the criteria that should be considered <br /> when amending the official zoning map or establishing a zoning classification: <br /> City of Pequot Lakes Staff Report 5-1 <br /> December 14,2oo6 <br />
