CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES
MONTHLY WATER/WASTEWATER REPORT
October 2007
Prepared by: Tina Nolden(Water/WW Manager)
WATER PLANT:
All is working well at the water plant.
WATER DISTRIBUTION:
The gate valve at Whalen Woods has finally been replaced. Everything went well
with that. Tom's Backhoe did a great job. The water was only off for an hour and a half,
from 4:00 am to about 5:30 am. I didn't hear of any complaints. Chris, with Anderson
Brothers, took care of the patching once the rain let up.
WASTEWATER:
Had to replace pump#1 at the Main Lift Station. Larry, with Electric Pump
Company, installed the new pump on Oct. 23`d. The old pump had blown a seal and oil
had gotten into many components and ruined them. The damage was too much to bother
repairing. The new pump is working great.
Lance and I have completed jetting the city sewer mains. It's a total of
approximately 6 miles of sewer line. We started Oct. I&and finished on Oct. 29th. We
did it all in 12 days, not bad! Overall, it went quite well. We had just a few problem
areas. Those areas we jetted two or three times and also added root killer/enzymes.
Having done all that, hopefully we won't have any problems this winter.
Our irrigation system has been winterized as well. Kurt and Lance helped with
that. They drained all water from the gearboxes and removed the drain plugs. They also
drained the main valve. I disconnected all the small lines to drain. The ponds are ready
for winter storage. Lance and I cleaned the aeration lines on Oct. 15th.
