The Clerk indicated she could check with the City Attorney <br /> on this issue. The Council decided to table the request until a decision is <br /> received from the City Attorney. <br /> 10.2. General Fund Budget <br /> The City Clerk informed the Council that there is $25,000 remaining in the <br /> Council Contingency budget. She questioned whether the Council wanted <br /> to designate any remaining money in 2007 Council Contingency to be <br /> used in 2008. She stated that this could reduce the preliminary by <br /> $25,000. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO DESIGNATE ANY <br /> REMAINING 2007 COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUNDS FOR USE BY <br /> THE COUNCIL AS COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUNDS IN 2008 AND TO <br /> REDUCE THE PRELIMINARY 2008 LEVY BY $25,000. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER ORASKOVICH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 10.3. Amendment to Travel Policv <br /> The Clerk requested the Council to consider some amendments to the <br /> travel and expense policy. She noted that the request was being made in <br /> an attempt to eliminate some confusion by employees regarding credit <br /> card purchases, receipt requirements, and meal per diems. <br /> Council Member Ryan requested that the policy be redefined, specifically <br /> as to what the word "travel signifies. <br /> I <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT THE POLICY AS <br /> PROPOSED UNTIL A REVISED POLICY IS PRESENTED TO COUNCIL. <br /> MAYOR MALECHA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-1. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN OPPOSED. <br /> 10.4. Criminal Investigation Policv <br /> The City Clerk noted that she and Chief Braam had been directed by <br /> Council to draft a criminal investigation fund policy. The Clerk presented <br /> the Council with a draft policy. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO ADOPT THE POLICY <br /> RELATING TO CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION FUNDS. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />
