The Council decided to table the request until a decision is received from the City Attorney. 10.2. General Fund Budget The City Clerk informed the Council that there is $25,000 remaining in the Council Contingency budget. She questioned whether the Council wanted to designate any remaining money in 2007 Council Contingency to be used in 2008. She stated that this could reduce the preliminary by $25,000. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO DESIGNATE ANY REMAINING 2007 COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUNDS FOR USE BY THE COUNCIL AS COUNCIL CONTINGENCY FUNDS IN 2008 AND TO REDUCE THE PRELIMINARY 2008 LEVY BY $25,000. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 10.3. Amendment to Travel Policv The Clerk requested the Council to consider some amendments to the travel and expense policy. She noted that the request was being made in an attempt to eliminate some confusion by employees regarding credit card purchases, receipt requirements, and meal per diems. Council Member Ryan requested that the policy be redefined, specifically as to what the word "travel signifies. I COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT THE POLICY AS PROPOSED UNTIL A REVISED POLICY IS PRESENTED TO COUNCIL. MAYOR MALECHA SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-1. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN OPPOSED. 10.4. Criminal Investigation Policv The City Clerk noted that she and Chief Braam had been directed by Council to draft a criminal investigation fund policy. The Clerk presented the Council with a draft policy. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO ADOPT THE POLICY RELATING TO CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION FUNDS. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0.
