CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES
MONTHLY WATER/WASTEWATER REPORT
SEPTEMBER 2007
Prepared by: Tina Nolden(Water/WW Manager)
WATER PLANT:
On the 12a', I had Thein Well Company pull and service well pump#3.
Everything checked out O.K. On the I e, Lance and Greg with PRASD,helped me
replace the PVC in our aerator.Dave Guillet with Tonka Company highly recommended
having it replaced. We had a power outage on the 2e,but there was plenty of water in
the tower so we didn't have any issues with that. We have emergency lighting at the
water plant as well as battery back-up to keep our computers running.
WATER DISTRIBUTION:
All is going well on the distribution side of things. Still deciding when to replace
the gate valve in front of Whalen Woods. Trying to coordinate with Tom's Backhoe and
Anderson Brothers,Tom says he can come.in around 4am to get the job done without too
much interruption to our customer's. Hopefully we can then have the water back on by 9
or loam.
WASTEWATER:
On the 19a',Dave Bloch and Kevin Selfors with Electric Pump Company installed
an Omni-Site alarm/analyzer on Lift Station#1 by UBC.Now,all of our lift stations have
the proper alarms to qualify for the"No-Fault"Sewer Back-Up Coverage. When the
power went out on the 2e,I had to use our generator to run the pumps at three of our lift
stations. I had Northland Septic pump the Main Lift Station to avoid any sewer back-ups
before I got the generator going. This prevented any additional problems.Karl Moon, our
electrician, installed all new generator connections to the lift stations and he helped get
the generator running at its best at each one.Everything went well.Once we were caught
up,I had Greg with PRASD help me pull both pumps from the main lift station to remove
debris and determine why pump#1 wasn't working right. It appears to have a bad seal so
I'll need to have it replaced soon. On the 20,I poured some enzymes and bacteria
booster into manhole#101 on the southwest part of town. This will help with grease
issues throughout the sewer lines and lift stations.
