Pequot Lakes Community Library <br /> Minutes of the Board Meeting <br /> September 18, 2007 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6.30 by President Nancy Adams. Members <br /> present: Nancy Adams, Ann Hutchings, John Longnecker, Lydia Loven and Claire <br /> Nagel. Dave Anderson and Sam Hennies arrived later. <br /> Lydia Loven moved, Claire Nagel seconded that the minutes of the August 21, 2007, <br /> minutes be accepted Motion carried. <br /> Committee Reports: <br /> Nancy Adams reported that two new volunteers have started and another has <br /> indicated interest for next summer. The Summer Reading Program final party was <br /> successful and 52 children received t-shirts for completing all requirements. Nancy will <br /> see if Kathie Meyer can send John the picture used in the Echo so John can post it on our <br /> web site. Ann Hutchings presented a letter she wished to send regarding a speaker for <br /> the future Adult Forum the library wishes to establish. Everyone present read the letter <br /> and felt is was appropriate. Ann will follow up. Craig Nagel's book signing has been <br /> scheduled for Saturday, October 13, 2007, at the library. We will promote this as our <br /> first Adult Forum program, with others to follow Claire, as always, is looking for <br /> suggestions for publicity. The Basket Auction will hopefully receive Thrivent support of <br /> up to$800 matching funds Donna Olson has submitted all paperwork <br /> Old Business: <br /> Thanks to both Ann Hutchings and Claire Nagel for their work on the latest <br /> bookmark It provides a list of art centers and galleries. Ann is responsible for keeping <br /> one copy of each bookmark for our files <br /> Treasurer's Report. <br /> There is a total of$58,363.68 in five endowment certificates; the Rainy Day certificate <br /> has$10,358 68, the Building/Expansion certificate has$10,000;and the <br /> Checking/Savings account contains$12,059.95. Our total is$90,780.31. There was <br /> discussion about moving part of the checking/savings to a CD, but it was decided to wait <br /> until after the Basket Auction Nancy Adams moved, Claire Nagel seconded that the <br /> Checking/Savings account be called "the Checking/Money Market account"since that is <br /> what the city now calls it. Motion carried John Longnecker moved, Ann Hutchings <br /> seconded that the Treasurer's Report be accepted Motion carried <br /> New Business: <br /> The library is in need of a smaller table for the Children's Room as the current table <br /> blocks the exit access. Everyone will look around for a new table. <br /> John Longnecker moved Dave Anderson seconded, that the meeting be adjourned. <br /> Motion carried <br /> The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. <br />
