MONTHLY STAFF REPORT City Clerk's Office August, 2012 Citv Council Meetin� — September 4, 2012, Regular Meetin� ➢ Resolution entering into a grant for fire equipment ➢ Appointment of election judges ➢ Open Forum — Jack Schmidt - Annexation ➢ Open Forum — State Representative Ward ➢ Brown water update ➢ Preliminary tax levies set ➢ Accepted fire fighter resignations ➢ School liaison contract approved for 2012-2013 school year ➢ Authorized repair of Cole Memorial Building roof ➢ Resolution moving forward with Street Vacation (Lind Street) ➢ Approved new postage machine lease ➢ Accepted board and commission resignations ➢ Moved not to move forward with video upgrades ➢ Adopted ordinance to reduce Council wages Citv Council Meeting — Sentember 25, 2012, Special Meetin� ` ➢ A special Council meeting was held to discuss labor negotiation strategies. This meeting was closed as allowed by State Statute. Park Commission — September 13. 2012 — Minutes are attached. The Commission continued discussion on the need to repair the steps at Sibley Lake Park. The Commission is aware of the cost to make these repairs and has stated that the Council must be kept up-to-date on the discussions for this future project. The Commission met at Trailside Park to discuss the removal of some of the large bushes along the north end of the DNR trail. The purpose for removing the bushes is to open the site lines along the trail and to reduce the screening to the businesses. HRA Meeting Au�ust 21, 2012 — Minutes are attached. Economic Develonment Commission — September 18, 2012 — • The EDC members visited Northern Tool The EDC reviewed the proposed WAC and SAC and ERU proposal. The EDC directed Staff to draft an ordinance for the EDC to review prior to sending this to Council for consideration. Meetings Attended: � 1. 9-4-12 — Safety training and hearing test
