City Council Minutes
September 4, 2007
-------------------------
13. Other Business
Mayor Malecha indicated that she attended a meeting initiated by the
MPCA. Her purpose for attending the meeting was to see if the City could
receive funding to clean up the old dump which is located on the Ratchke
property along Highway 371. The Mayor noted that there is no funding
available for the cleanup. She explained that the main issue with the
property is the white goods (old appliances) that were dumped on the
property years ago. The Mayor stated that this seems to be a zoning issue
and would like the zoning department to take the lead in contacting the
property owner and assisting in cleaning up the property. The Council
concurred and requested the Clerk to pass this information on to the
Zoning Administrator.
Council Member Nagel questioned whether the City has a policy relating
to low energy usage for lighting and vehicles. He indicated that he would
like to see the City be a leader in low energy usage and would like the
Street Superintendent to begin thinking in the direction of energy efficiency
with the City buildings and vehicles. Council Member Sjoblad stated that
Mike Loven has begun to move in that direction.
14. Adiournment
There being no further business, COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO
ADJOURN. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH SECONDED THE
MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
The meeting of the City Council adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
4"0, - sIt,
Sandra A. Peine
City Clerk
L
