AGENDA ITEM #11 .2 <br /> REPORT TO <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Date: July 3, 2007 <br /> Subject: Pick-up Truck Purchase <br /> Report: The Maintenance Department is requesting to <br /> purchase a pick up truck to replace the existing pick up <br /> truck. The City has a membership with the State of <br /> �-- Minnesota Purchasing Coop. The Cooperative Purchasing <br /> Program allows member cities to purchase goods and <br /> services under contracts established by the State of <br /> Minnesota. Because the State bids out the goods and buys <br /> in quantity, the price is usually lower than what a City <br /> could normally purchase the goods for. <br /> This purchase was included in the street and equipment <br /> long range plan. If this is approved by Council, the truck <br /> could be available for the snow season. Staff will be selling <br /> the existing truck to offset the cost of the new truck. <br /> Council Action Requested: Council motion authorizing <br /> the purchase of a new pick-up truck and the sale of the <br /> existing truck. <br />
