Pequot Lakes Police Dept.
Report to the City Council
June 28, 2007
So far for the month of June the Department has logged 512 individual ICRs.
Current Activities:
The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers continued to conduct business and home security
checks throughout the month, for the month of June to date there have been 387 separate checks
completed. During these security checks 11 instances of open doors were found at various businesses.
The whole Department is gearing up for the 4th of July Parade, Bean Hole Days and other community
events that will be taking place in the next couple weeks.
Upcoming Training:
July: Officer Rich Hogan will be attending Motorcycle Officer training in Wisconsin. This will be of
great benefit to Officer Hogan and our motorcycle program.
Aug: Officer Kate Petersen will be attending National School Resource Officer(SRO) training in St.
Paul, in preparation for working in the school this fall.
Significant Cases:
❖ The department is currently involved in a Safe and Sober/ Seatbelt Speed reduction campaign.
This campaign is running State Wide.
Officers continue to concentrate their efforts on reducing the speeds on all roadways, including the
Highway and the illegal passing on the right shoulder, especially at intersections. This is an ongoing
effort to increase everyone's safety while traveling in and through our community.
The Department will start working with the Jenkins Township contract on the 1St of July. We look
forward to extending our coverage to more of our neighbors on a regular basis.
Respectfully Submitted,
Jerry Braam
Chief of Police
