Kevin Nelson Land Use Permit Timeline: <br /> 1. April, 2005 applied for and received a permit to move in a garage and construct a <br /> fence. <br /> 2. September, 2005 Staff received a complaint and verified the fence was <br /> constructed with wood pallets. <br /> 3. September, 2005, Staff asked Planning Commission for interpretation of fence <br /> materials; pallets do not constitute acceptable construction of a fence. <br /> 4. September, 2005, Staff notified Mr.Nelson that pallet fence was in violation of <br /> the City's Ordinance. <br /> 5. October 3, 2005, Mr. Nelson responded to the letter by calling City Hall. He <br /> indicated the fence was fine, had an"up north"look. He will appear at October <br /> Planning Commission meeting and speak at Open Forum. <br /> 6. October 20, 2005, Mr. Nelson failed to appear at Planning Commission meeting. <br /> 7. December 21, 2005, Staff wrote Mr. Nelson a letter instructing him that the <br /> pallets are not acceptable construction materials for a fence and that the pallets <br /> needed to be removed as soon as the frost was out in the spring. <br /> 8. April 10, 2006, Staff wrote Mr. Nelson a letter requesting that the fence be <br /> removed by April 24, 2006. <br /> 9. April 20, 2006,regular monthly Planning Commission meeting, Mr. Nelson was <br /> in the audience but could not wait to speak to the Commission regarding his <br /> fence. Staff was directed to place him on the agenda for next month's meeting <br /> before the public hearings and to notify Mr.Nelson. <br /> 10. May 2, 2006, Staff notified Mr.Nelson that he had been placed at the beginning <br /> of the Agenda for the May 18, 2006 Planning Commission meeting. <br /> 11. May 18, 2006, Mr.Nelson failed to attend the meeting. <br /> 12. December 6, 2006, Staff informed Mr.Nelson that he would not be allowed to <br /> amend is Land Use Permit because he was in violation for the construction <br /> materials used for the fence. <br /> 13. June 1, 2007, Staff sent Mr.Nelson a letter requesting the fence be removed by <br /> June 20, 2007 or an Administrative Fine would be issued. <br /> 14. June, 2007, Mr. Nelson requested a refund of his permit fees. (The fee for the <br /> permit was$199.40) <br /> 15. June 20, 2007, Staff verified the pallet fence had been removed. <br />
