Publicity continues to go well. When the web site is fully
functional, that will be publicized. The fundraising letter went out June 2d. As of the
x 19th of June,we have received $3,025. It is hopeful that additional monies will be
received. The library book sale is Friday& Saturday,June 29&30. Lydia will help
Cathy with this event. Nancy will present information to the City Council on Tuesday, July 3, at 6:30
p.m.regarding our dilemma of space. It would be appreciated if Board Members would
attend lend support. We will be first on the agenda.
New Business: A discussion was held regarding ideas for new programs and/or
services that the library might provide. The idea of a"Third Saturday"(just an example)
program on a regular basis was discussed in a most positive manner. The only problem is
finding someone who would be willing to take this on. We will look for someone as we
go along. The idea of opening in the mornings between Memorial Day and Labor Day
was discussed as a possibility for next year. This would be a trial for one summer-to be
evaluated at the end of the summer. It also might alleviate heavy periods of patron usage.
This would be tried only if additional volunteers could be secured.
Dave Anderson moved,Lydia Loven seconded, that the meeting be adjourned.
NEXT MEETING WILL BE TUESDAY,JULY 16, 2007,AT 6:30 P.M.
L
