' 2.3.8 Mission Township Program <br /> The Mission Township Dr -Off Program began June 1 2. Appendix 2-B shows the results of the <br /> ' program. SCORE funds are ovided to Mission T ship for the program. In 2004, the County <br /> gave a grant of$5,000 for the To ship to update eir recycling shelter. The program offers a one <br /> Saturday(last Saturday of the mont om 10 a .to 2 p.m.)per month drop-off at the Town Hall in <br /> the winter and at the transfer station d 'n a summer. The township contracts with Blue Lakes <br /> Disposal to haul materials. The projecte sults for the program were 20 tons per year. In 2006,the <br /> program accounted for 78.74 tons of cycle aterial at a cost of$31.75 per ton. <br /> 2.3.9 Nisswa Program <br /> The Nisswa Drop-Off Pro am began September 1991. A endix 2-B shows the tabulated results of <br /> the program. SCORE ds are provided to Nisswa for the p gram. The indicated totals for each <br /> month are accurate w le the individual material quantities are ased on percentages of the total. <br /> The City contracts ith Garrison/Nisswa Sanitation to provide a 'n and haul materials to Cass <br /> Recycling in Pi River. This program provides a permanently locat bin rather than a once-a- <br /> ' month servi . e projected results for a once-a-month drop-off were 67.6 tons per year. The 2.006 <br /> cost per ton was $75.24 for 186.08 tons. <br /> 2.3.10 Peguot Lakes Program <br /> The Pequot Lakes Drop-Off Program began January 1991. Appendix 2-B shows the tabulated results <br /> of the program. The cost per ton for 1992 was reported as zero because funding was not requested. <br /> SCORE funds are provided to the City of Pequot Lakes for the program. In 2005,the County as part <br /> ' of the installation of a used oil tank,the recycling drop-off area was upgraded. A concrete pad was <br /> installed for the recycling bins to sit on. This effort was worth$1,275. Initially,the City contracted <br /> with Kenwood (Pythons of Brainerd) Recycling for the pick up. Before April 1993, Kenwood <br /> Recycling provided a one Saturday per month drop-off service. Volunteers staffed the site. In April <br /> 1993, the City contracted with Nisswa Sanitation to provide a permanently located bin. In 1996, <br /> Garrison Disposal bought out Nisswa Sanitation and they took over this service. In 2000, service <br /> was provided by North Country Rolloff. Starting in 2006 Garrison Disposal took over this service. <br /> Starting in 2005, service is open all week. The projected results for this program were 58 tons per <br /> year. The material collected during 2006 was 93.78 tons. The cost just considering SCORE funding <br /> is$109.83 per ton. <br /> I <br /> 18 <br />
