Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to the City Council <br /> February 28, 2007 <br /> For the month of February the Department logged 352 individual ICRs. A couple of Officers also had <br /> time in court during the month. <br /> Current Activities: <br /> In the month of February, The Reserves, Part time and Full time Officers recorded 289 separate business <br /> and home security checks, finding 2 open doors — one house and one business. The Reserves have <br /> continued to assist with crowd security for girls and boys high school basketball games as well as Dance <br /> line competitions. <br /> Office Manager Wedan attended a couple trainings for the new CWC records management system. All <br /> Dept officers attended an overview session with full training to be attended in March. At this time the <br /> new system will be going online on March 13th for the Sheriff s Dept, Brainerd and Baxter Police Dept. <br /> PLPD and other outlying departments will be connecting the following week. <br /> The Department impound lot construction has been completed and the lot already put to use with 3 <br /> vehicles. <br /> Training: <br /> Feb: Officers Nangle and Hogan attended 1St Aid Refresher training. <br /> Officer Gartner attended EMT Refresher training. <br /> March: Officer Gartner and K9 Shadow will attend Re-certification, weather permitting. <br /> All Reserves will attend 1St Aid, CPR and AED training here at our Dept. <br /> Upcoming Activities: <br /> Part time officer Kate Petersen will be attending a Law Enforcement Club Competition in the state of <br /> Delaware in March. The Central Lake College Club has held fund raising over the past year to pay their <br /> way to this annual competition. The Whole Department wishes her the best of luck. <br /> The Police and Fire Departments along with other local ambulance service, air care and other emergency <br /> services will begin organizing a DUI crash site demonstration to be presented to the Junior and Senior <br /> classes of the Pequot Lakes High School. The life like simulation will take place the beginning of April, <br /> before the students have their prom. These demonstrations have been shown to make a positive impact <br /> on the student's choice to not drink and drive. <br />
