PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 7, 2007 MEETING <br /> The meeting of the PLFD was called to order by chief Nelson, 27 members were present. <br /> The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved by a motion by Cerise, second <br /> by Rickard, motion passed. <br /> Truck checks were discussed. Rescue I had a bad plug end on the power cord which was <br /> repaired tonight. Rescue 2 was all OK Engine 1 was missing the ash shovel and ash pail. <br /> It was left at the scene of the last chimney fire. Engine 2 needs all its fire extinguishers <br /> checked. They are all dated 2005. We need a new pair of binoculars for engine 2. Tanker <br /> 1 is good. Tanker 2 has a broken primer on the pump which is all corroded. The rest of <br /> tanker 2 is OK. Tanker 3 is OK. Engine 3 and tanker 2 both have one bad battery. Grass <br /> truck 1 had low pressure in all the tires. The ATV is good and the fuel valve is shut off. <br /> Grass truck 2 is OK. The water tender is OK. <br /> We need to rewrite the numbers on all the SCBA tanks. <br /> The financial report is the fire fund balance is about $21,000.We spent about $7000.00 <br /> last month for general expenses. Medical, tanker 3 expenses, vaccinations for new fire <br /> fighters accounted for most of the total. Our checking balance is $3172.84 tonight. We <br /> spent $107.00 for pop, $300.00 to the scholarship for 2007, and $2348.69 for the concrete <br /> walls for our new training and meeting room. The city owes us reimbursement for the u <br /> $2348.69 and $300.00 for the car expense for extrication training. Our real balance after <br /> we are paid back is $5821.53. We could also use the $3000.00 from the police <br /> department, which they pledged for the training room. <br /> Everyone has new safety glasses purchased with the donation from TDS. <br /> A thank you letter was read from the Nisswa fire department for our support and help <br /> with a truck fro Mike Thurlow's funeral. <br /> The Chief discussed a report that our pass alarms may not work when exposed to excess <br /> heat and moisture. This is what they supposed to be made to withstand. <br /> We are supposed to host the Cuyuna Range meeting here in March. Will our new room <br /> be ready? We also need to find a speaker for the training topic. We also need to plan for <br /> the food. We will find out how many attend this meeting. Bill will contact Paul Lundgren <br /> to see if the DNR will do the training topic. <br /> Oaks reported the wiring is close to done for the training room. He would like to thank all <br /> who helped put up the ceiling trusses. Sheetrocking and taping are next on the agenda. <br /> There will be a work night to get ready to host the Cuyuna Range meeting. <br /> Our fire gear that was ordered last year is scheduled to be delivered on February 12"'. The <br /> cost of that gear is about $6000.00. <br />
