PEQUOT LAKES C0MMUNITYLIBRARY MINUTES OF THE BOARD MEETING JANUARY 16, 2007 The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by President Nancy Adams. Members present: Nancy Adams, David Anderson, Sam Hennies, Ann Hutchings, Lydia Loven, Claire Nagel. Absent: John Longnecker. There were no visitors. Lydia Loven moved, and Ann Hutchings seconded, that the minutes of December 12, 2006, be accepted as written. Motion carried. David Anderson gave the Treasurer's Report: There is $5,125.16 in the checking account, $10,000 in the Rainy Day account,the Endowment has $50,13586, and the Building/Expansion Fund has$10,000, for a total of$78,264.52. Ann Hutchings moved, and Claire Nagel seconded,that the Treasurer's Report be accepted. Motion carried. Committee Reports: Nancy Adams is looking for a second/fourth Saturday volunteer. Ann Hutchings said she could help out until a permanent person is found. Nancy will get back to her. The Winter Reading Program is underway. It will end on February 28 with a drawing for people who have read 15 books. Publicity is going well and there is no fundraising taking place at this time. Old Business: The new shelving unit will be put together on Friday morning. We will most likely be looking for a smaller table for the children's room once the new shelving is in place. We need John for work on the Web Page, so this will most likely be on hold until he returns. Nancy will contact Echo Publishing regarding Bring Me A Book. New Business: We have received a$3,000 donation for materials from Mid- Minnesota Federal Credit Union in Brainerd. This is a wonderful and generous gift. There will be a book sale the last Friday and Saturday of January. We will be renting a heating unit($50 per day)to heat the back room during the sale. We are hoping that Our Saviors' Lutheran Church will donate their free-standing sign to the library. David Anderson and Lydia Loven are checking into that. The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m. There will be no meeting in February. The next meeting is March 20, 2007, at 6:30 p.m.
