Ci ty of <br />Pequot <br />Lakes _ _ <br />AGENDA ITEM #10.04 <br />REPORT TO <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />Report by: Sandy Peine, City Clerk <br />Date: January 7, 2014 <br />Subiect: Designation of Official Newspaper <br />Report: State Statute requires municipalities to annually <br />designate a newspaper of general circulation as its official <br />newspaper in which the City will publish ordinances and <br />other matters as required by law. The City annually <br />designates the Lake Country Echo and the Brainerd <br />Dispatch as its official newspapers. The Lake Country <br />Echo is the main newspaper used by the City. The Brainerd <br />Lakes Dispatch is used mainly as a backup newspaper in <br />the case of a missed publication deadline. <br />Council Action Requested: Council motion adopting the <br />attached Resolution designating official newspapers for <br />2014. <br />
