Doggy Day Care
A property owner in the Downtown Mixed Use zone plans to open
an Animal Grooming Facility, which is a permitted use. They
would like to also provide a drop-off service where pet owners
could drop their dogs off while they ran errands, etc. They would
like to have up to ten dogs, with ten interior runs, plus an activity
room for exercise and play. Proposed hours would be 8 AM to 8
PM, Monday through Friday. Down the road, possibly 5 to 7
years, increase number of dogs to 20 and operate 7 days per week.
An Animal Boarding Facility is an excluded use in the DMU. An
Animal Boarding Facility is described as "An establishment that
houses animals, other than those belonging to the occupant,
overnight or over an extended period of time."
`- Would this daytime drop-off care be defined as "extended period
of time"?
ACTON: Advise Staff on how to proceed.
i
