We anticipate approaching you in the near future for assistance with
answering some of the questions, and look forward to receiving those answers. We also
plan to keep you well informed so that you can raise any technical concerns you may
have as we proceed.
In the very immediate timeframe,we are requesting that Mn/DOT provide us with a
digital file of the alternate route alignment, as presented in the mapping dated October 16,
2006. We understand that the alignment is very preliminary and subject to much change,
but from the perspective of our Study Group, it provides a critical starting point for our
analysis. We intend to overlay the alternate route alignment with our extensive mapping,
including our zoning map, and then identify potential issues within the near and distant
proximity.
We are also requesting that we receive a digital copy of the aerial imagery that was the
backdrop for the October 16,2006 drawing. While we understand that you are acquiring
additional data prior to doing detailed design, this imagery is of higher quality than
anything we have in our possession and would be invaluable to use in our mapping
systems as we move forward.
If you have any technical questions on our data request, please contact Dawn Bittner,
218-568-6699, at City Hall.
