CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Chair Anderson called the meeting together at 4:00 p.m.
2. PARK DEDICATION FOR TRAILSIDE ESTATE PLAT
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss Park Dedication for Trailside
Estate plat with the developer, Corky Smith. The park board previously
approved accepting the park as a city park with the stipulation that the
park include certain amenities. Mr. Smith contended that the cost of the
amenities far exceeded the 10% park dedication fee requirement;
especially the certified playground equipment.
I
i
Corky Smith presented the Board with his sketch of the Park. He stated
the park is approximately one acre in size. He indicated that he has built a
gazebo for the park and will be adding park benches in the park. He also
indicated he would seed the park but suggested that the City install a
sprinkling system.
The Park Board reviewed the amenities it had previously requested for the
park. After much discussion Mr. Smith agreed to be responsible for the
gazebo, park benches, mulch, lights, trees, sod and a sprinkling system.
The Park Board agreed that the City would purchase and install a
playground set.
Chair Anderson discussed his concern with traffic speed around the park.
Mr. Smith stated he didn't feel there was enough distance for cars to pick
up speed plus it will be posted with speed limit signs.
