Police City of Pequot City Hall
Fax 21 -568- Lakes 218-568-5222
Fax 218-568-5647 Fax 218-568-5860
plpd @pequotlakes-mn.gov = 4638 County Road 11 cityhall @pegax 21 -568-5860
Pequot Lakes,MN 56472
www.pequotlakes-mn.gov
September 25, 2008
Darrell Lake
21036 Prairie Hills Lane
Prior Lake, MN 55372
Dear Mr. Lake:
Pursuant to the agreement reached between yourself and the City of Pequot Lakes dated
April 7, 2007, a member of the Planning Commission inspected your property to confirm
the existence of the sprinkler system and the condition of the newly planted trees. During
that recent inspection it was noted that there were only 20 living trees,as opposed to the
31 living trees required at the 2009 inspection.
The main objective of the Agreement mentioned above was to guarantee restoration of
the vegetation on the slope from your dwelling to the lake. There doesn't appear to be
any trees, either living or dead, between the dwelling and the lake. This is a serious
deficiency in your execution of the agreement.
The installation of the sprinkler system was to provide for a more consistent watering of
the newly planted and other trees. This irrigation system may not be working properly as
the grass did not appear very healthy either.
The City is extending the above-mentioned Agreement to 2010. We are requiring that
you plant an additional 11 trees this fall. These need to be properly located between the
dwelling and the lake. Please contact us when this is completed so that we may confirm.
We also strongly suggest that next spring you check your irrigation system to be certain it
is functioning properly.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Dawn Bittner
Zoning Administrator
C: Planning Commission
Lonny Thomas, Attorney at Law
