This property is currently zoned Light <br /> Industrial and a fence up to 84 inches may be constructed. The applicants are proposing <br /> to construct a fence not exceeding 84 inches in height with three strands of barbed wire <br /> at the top. The bracket is 12 to 18 inches and slants in. The Ordinance allows this with <br /> approval from the Planning Commission. <br /> Applicable Regulations: The following regulations apply to this application: <br /> Section 17-5.13 LIGHT INDUSTRIAL(LI) <br /> 4. Performance Standards. <br /> E. Fences. Fences not exceeding 84 inches in height may be <br /> constructed. Under no circumstances shall a fence be constructed <br /> closer than io feet from the surface of a public road and in all <br /> cases not within the public right-of-way. Materials shall consist of <br /> usual fencing materials with posts and fence of metal, wood, <br /> concrete, brick or smooth wire. Barbed or electrified wire is <br /> prohibited, except where specific approval has been given by the <br /> Planning Commission. <br /> Planning Commission Direction: The Commission can approve or deny the <br /> proposed barbed wire fencing. <br /> The most significant factor for consideration would be whether or not human contact is <br /> anticipated.
