City of MEMO <br /> Pequott <br /> Lakes==-.- <br /> TO: Planning Commission <br /> FROM: Dawn Bittner, Zoning Administrator <br /> DATE: November 5, 2008 <br /> RE: Dump Clean Up <br /> Monday, November 3, the old dump between Highway 371 and Front Street <br /> was cleaned up. This was a joint effort including the property owner, the <br /> Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), Crow Wing County Solid <br /> Waste (CWCSW), Crow Wing County Sentence to Serve (STS) crew and <br /> the City. The City cleaned up their portion of the dump several years ago. <br /> The MPCA and CWCSW coordinated the clean up. STS provided the <br /> manpower. The City provided the backhoe and an employee to operate it. <br /> The property owner gave permission to enter the property, paid for any <br /> rental of equipment necessary and provided food for all of the workers. <br /> The following items were hauled to the Landfill: 22 tires over 16", 61 tires <br /> less than 15", 1 tire with rim and 2 yards of garbage. The Landfill Fee of <br /> $149.50 will be paid by the property owner. <br /> Crow Wing Recycling hauled 3 containers of appliances, etc. for a total of <br /> 11.5 tons of metal removed from the site. <br /> 4638 County Road 11 <br /> IN-1 Pequot Lakes, MN 56472 <br /> dbittner@pequotlakes-mn.g_ov <br /> 218-568-6699 <br />
