COMMUNrryGROWTH City sf
Fj 1 N 5 T i T U T E Pequot
_ uk6--
7(d)Definition of Principle Structure,Building Standards
7(d) Definition of Principal Structure, Building Standards
City Ordinance currently defines Principal Structures and Uses as follows:
171. Principal Structure or Use. The single primary structure or use on a lot,
as distinguished from accessory uses or structure. To be considered a
principal structure, the structure must be at least 400 square feet.
The City has identified a need to clarify this definition to provide a nexus between a
principal structure located upon a property and the principal use of that property. To do
this, Staff recommends the following revisions to the current City Ordinance, Section 17-
3.2. Definitions.
171. Principal Structure or Use. The single primary structure or use on a lot,
as distinguished from accessory uses or structures. To be considered a
principal structure, the structure must be at least 400 square feet in area
and must be utilized for the purpose of the principal use of the property.
Planning Commission Direction: Staff recommends that the Commission review and
discuss the proposed revision. If the Commission should determine that the revision
properly addresses the intent of the definition, the Commission may initiate the revision
for amendment of the Ordinance.
w
Pequot Lakes Staff Report 7(d)-1
May 15,2oo8
