STAFF REPORT <br /> Application: Ordinance Amendment to Define Principle Structure <br /> Applicant: City of Pequot Lakes <br /> Agenda Item:3(c) <br /> Background Information: The City has identified a need to clarify the definition of <br /> principle structure to provide a nexus between a principal structure located upon a <br /> property and the principal use of that property. At last month's meeting the City was <br /> presented with Ordinance language and reviewed building standards for principle <br /> structures. The Planning Commission decided to move forward with an Ordinance <br /> amendment. <br /> The Ordinance currently defines Principle Structures and Uses as follows: <br /> iii. Principal Structure or Use. The single primary structure or use on a <br /> lot, as distinguished from accessory uses or structure. To be considered a <br /> principal structure,the structure must be at least 400 square feet. <br /> Proposed Ordinance: Staff proposes the following Ordinance amendment to define <br /> Principle Structures and Uses: <br /> Section 17-3.2 Definitions: <br /> iii. Principal Structure or Use. The single primary structure or use on a <br /> lot, as distinguished from accessory uses or structures. To be considered <br /> a principal structure,the structure must be at least 400 square feet in area <br /> and must be utilized for the purpose of the principal use of the_proper . <br /> Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval of the Ordinance amendment. <br /> Pequot Lakes Staff Report 3(c)-1 <br /> June i9,2oo8 <br />
