MINUTES <br /> JOINT WORK SESSION <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL <br /> AND <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> MAY 17,2007 <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Malecha, Councilmen Nagel, Ryan, Sjoblad and Oraskovich; <br /> Planning Commission Members Woog, Adams, Habein, Pederson, and Williams. <br /> ABSENT: Derksen, Hallan and Varilek. <br /> STAFF: Charles Marohn, City Planner; Tim Houle, City Engineer. <br /> MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION: Tim Bray, Project Manager. <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Woog at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Woog stated he <br /> hoped to have a 1 '/z hour meeting tonight, but due to the public hearings at the Planning <br /> Commission Meeting, this meeting will only be an hour with the regular Planning <br /> Commission meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br /> A motion was made by Sjoblad, seconded by Adams,to approve the Minutes as read. All <br /> members voted"aye". Motion carried. <br /> JOHN DERKSEN ARRIVED—6:07 P.M. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD#1: None. <br /> MINNESOTA POLLUTION CONTROL AGENCY: <br /> Greg Van Eeckhout, Project Manager at Baxter Office, Limnologist(lakes &rivers) <br /> answered the following questions: <br /> ➢ What impacts will construction of an alternate route have to Pequot Lakes' <br /> environmental systems? <br /> The MPCA contacted their St. Paul office. There are no large impacts anticipated to <br /> waters if proper stormwater controls and infiltration basins are used. <br /> ➢ What green-space opportunities are created or lost by construction of an alternate <br /> route? <br /> This question is hard to answer. <br /> 1 <br />
