MINUTES <br /> JOINT.WORK SESSION <br /> OF <br /> PEQUOT LAKES CITY COUNCIL AND <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> MAY 1,2007 <br /> PRESENT: Mayor Malecha, Councilmen Nagel, Ryan, Sjoblad and Oraskovich; <br /> Planning Commission Members Woog, Adams, Habein and Williams. ABSENT: <br /> Planning Commission Members Derksen, Hallan, Varilek and Pederson. <br /> STAFF: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Tina Nolden, Water/Wastewater Operator; Mike <br /> Loven, Street Superintendent; Tim Houle and Mike Rude, City Engineers; Charles <br /> Marohn, City Planner; and Dawn Bittner, Zoning Administrator. <br /> MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION: Timothy Bray, Project <br /> Manager. <br /> The meeting was called to order at 5:06 p.m. by Tom Woog, Planning Commission <br /> Chair. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br /> A motion was made by Dave Sjoblad, seconded by Tom Adams,to approve the April 19 <br /> Minutes as read. All members voted"aye". Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD# 1: <br /> Jack Schmidt: Mr. Schmidt would like to thank the City Council and the Planning <br /> Commission for moving forward with these alternate route meetings. He had been at a <br /> previous meeting where Mr. O stated that positive ideas should be passed on to Mn/DOT. <br /> Dave Sjoblad also stated that the voters spoke in the last election. Mr. Schmidt further <br /> stated he did not like the comment from a Councilman that these meetings really didn't <br /> matter as there would be a new Council in 2 years. Mr. Schmidt wanted to remind the <br /> Planning Commission and the City Council that they work for the constituents. <br /> Chairman Woog stated there would be some changes to the Agenda. He wanted to state <br /> his displeasure with the MPCA agent scheduled to make a presentation tonight, Greg <br /> Vaneeckhout. Mr. Marohn had met with him a month ago to obtain answers to these <br /> questions. Mr. Vaneeckhout stated this afternoon that he would be unable to attend as he <br /> wasn't aware of this meeting and had a prior engagement. Mr. Vaneeckhout also had not <br /> prepared written comments to share in his absence. <br /> Tim Bray,Mn/DOT Project Engineer, agreed to "Adjust Fire" and answer the questions <br /> he was scheduled to answer at our May 19 meeting. <br /> Joint Work Session of City Council and Planning Commission 1 <br /> May 1, 2007 <br />
