MINUTES <br /> PEQUOT LAKES PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> MARCH 20,2008 <br /> PRESENT: Bill Habein, Tom Adams, Mary Peterson, Tom Woog and John Derksen. <br /> ABSENT: Mark Hallan, Scott Pederson and Dean Williams. <br /> CITY PLANNER: Charles Marohn, PE. <br /> ZONING ADMINISTRATOR: Dawn Bittner <br /> CITY COUNCIL LIAISON: Craig Nagel <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Woog at 6:36 p.m. <br /> Mr. Woog opened the public hearings. <br /> APPLICANT: Scott Smith. <br /> Applicant requests a Conditional Use Permit to place business signs on skid loaders. <br /> Mr. Marohn explained the Staff Report. Applicant was not present. <br /> There was no public comment. <br /> Mr. Marohn explained that he had been contacted by City Staff who requested he contact <br /> the applicants by telephone. Mr. Marohn explained the message he left pertaining to a <br /> principal structure and use. <br /> A motion was made by Tom Adams, seconded by Bill Habein,to deny the Conditional <br /> Use Permit based on the following Findings of Fact: <br /> 1. The proposed use includes a storage shed with signs. This does not constitute a <br /> principle use. <br /> 2. The proposed signs are a use that would be accessory to an established principle <br /> use. <br /> 3. The proposed shed is an accessory structure. <br /> 4. With no principle structure or use, the property may not be used to display <br /> signage as proposed. <br /> 5. The proposed use is not consistent with the purpose and intent of the Commercial <br /> zone. The use proposed is advertising and storage, which are not commercial <br /> uses. <br /> 6.
