9. New Business <br /> a. Uses in the DMU Zone <br /> In working on the Grow Zone concept that was presented in the 2007 End of the Year <br /> Report, and in ongoing administration of the ordinance, we have identified the Land Use <br /> Matrix provisions in the DMU zone as something in need of further examination. <br /> For instance, the matrix currently does not provide for retail uses, which are the <br /> prominent use in the DMU. Most retail uses would fall under the "other" category and <br /> require a Conditional Use Permit. <br /> Additionally, a business relocating within the DMU would often need a Conditional Use <br /> Permit, even if that business has been operating within the DMU for years. <br /> Unless there is a concern from the Planning Commission, your Staff intends to review <br /> the Land Use Matrix and provide an analysis at an upcoming meeting. <br /> March, 2008 Staff Report Page 18 <br />
