This letter is to inform you that there are unresolved <br /> violations on this parcel. Best management practices were not used when the initial tree <br /> clearing occurred. The removal of the stumps and the stacking of the cleared trees into <br /> piles are not consistent with sound forest management techniques. <br /> To stabilize the site and to work to restore it,the following requirements must take place: <br /> 1. Cease and desist any additional clearing and/or construction activities. <br /> 2. Take the downed trees, limbs and brush that are stacked in piles and spread them <br /> back over the site to cover the ground. You may wish to use a chipper to make <br /> sure that the ground is covered. <br /> 3. None of the piles of trees, limbs and brush are to be burned. <br /> 4. Contact Jim Chamberlain at the Department of Natural Resources for assistance <br /> in creating a replanting plan/schedule. Mr. Chamberlain will view your site and <br /> help establish a schedule for which types of plantings would need to be <br /> reestablished and in what quantities. Mr. Chamberlain can be reached by phone <br /> at 218-828-6197. <br /> 5. Implement the Chamberlain replanting plan. There will be ongoing inspections <br /> by the City to monitor compliance. <br />
