Since that time,the Planning Commission <br /> has been examining methods to incorporate aspects conservation design from the DNR's <br /> Alternative Shoreland Management standards into the Ordinance. <br /> The amendments proposed for this hearing are designed to do that, making conservation <br /> design the default method of subdivision for shoreline properties within the City. <br /> A public hearing on this item was held in January of 2009. Changes to the proposed <br /> amendment from that meeting are shown in RED. <br /> Planning Commission Direction: This amendment has been initiated by the <br /> Planning Commission and therefore no action is required. <br /> If the Planning Commission chooses, the amendment can be recommended to the City <br /> Council for adoption. <br /> Staff Recommendation: The amendments proposed are consistent with the <br /> conservation design standards adopted in 2oo8 for non-shoreline properties and is <br /> consistent with guidance from the Comprehensive Plan.
