Council Report — Budget
August 21, 2012
------------------------------

• 2012 — 2013 =$158,798 proposed preliminary levy
increase
Notes
1. The budgets reflect a 2.5% wage increase for all
employees. The decision regarding wage increases will be
determined by the City Council. Once this has been
determined, the Council will need to specify whether it is a
cost of living increase and/or a step increase.
2. We will not know how the levy totals will affect the
City's tax rates until early October. This information is
provided by the County.

Council Action Requested: Council direction regarding
amendments to the attached preliminary budgets. Staff will
then make the amendments and bring the budgets back to
the Council on September 4th for a final review prior to
setting the preliminary levy. The preliminary tax levy must
be set by September 15th. This number can be decreased
but not increased prior to setting the final levy in
December.
Please feel free to call or stop in if you have any questions
regarding the budgets or the budget process.
`..
