Mayor Adams noted that the budgets reflect a 2.5% increase and <br />would like to propose a 1.25% wage increase. The Mayor suggested a 6% <br />increase for the preliminary levy. Council Member Ryan stated that due to <br />the current economic times he would not want to increase the levy. <br />Council Member Akerson stated that he would like to see a 0% increase <br />L— with an ultimate decrease of 10%. Council Member Sjoblad suggested a <br />10% increase. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO WORK TOWARD A <br />PRELIMINARY LEVY OF APPROXIMATELY 6%. MAYOR ADAMS <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-2. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER RYAN AND COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON OPPOSED. <br />The following direction was given to staff. <br />1. Decrease LGA revenue to $30,000 <br />2. IT Budget — Redo this budget to allocate costs to specific <br />departments <br />3. Relook at computer needs for Police Department. <br />4. Research the interest rate for the City Hall loan. <br />5. Reduce employee wages to 1.25% <br />6. Reduce Council wages by $50 per month <br />7. Eliminate the Sergeant position <br />13.
