CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES CROW WING COLf.N IY,MINNESOTA ORDINANCE XX-2009 AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT ESTABLISHING A GROW ZONE OVERLAY DISTRICT THE CITY COUNCIL OF PEQUOT LAKES ORDAINS THE FOLLOWING AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 17-LAND USE(ZONING)AND SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS,SECTION 17-6.5 Section 17-6.5 Grow Zone Overlay District 1. Purpose and Intent. The intent of the Grow Zone Overlay District is to: a. Facilitate economic development and increased tax base in the downtown area of PPe not Lakes. b. Provide a clear and streamlined aunroval process for develo ment within the downtown, c. CapitaUe on public infrastructure inveg—ments by allowing more-intense use f existing infrastructure, d. Enhance mixed-mixed-use aspect of the downtown so as o expand the lool market for merchants. e. Standards. Government Drive (Note: Government Drive has a loo foot right-of-way and structures on only one side. This means that, in order to build the sense-of-place and maintain the 3:1 to 6:1 ratio, the east side of Government Drive needs to have tall structures that face the street. We should consider a line of trees on the west side to provide the other "wail"that would help create the place in between.)
