The City has taken steps to protect habitats, especially inner-forest areas, from development. Do you have any thoughts on wildlife and forest habitats within the City of Pequot Lakes? 6. Economic Development. In improving the city's economic development strategy, should the Lakes place emphasis on job creation or on growing the tax base? Investment in Alternate Alignment Commercial Zoning With Highway 371 scheduled to be realigned east of the downtown,the City is evaluating how the property along the alignment should be zoned. It is currently zoned primarily Agriculture and Forestry (both large lot zoning classifications). The cost to provide sewer and water to the east side of the new highway is $1.8 million.
