The resulting houses are a cheaper version of what can be found on larger
properties outside of town. The public is maintaining an excessive amount of infrastructure to support a very low
level of development.
'f

This photo shows a neighborhood street that has maintained its complexity. Not only does the public realm
accommodate cars, but it also provides for pedestrian and other non-motorized traffic. The scale of the street
makes it less expensive to construct and maintain. The adjacent development pattern on such a street does not
have to respond to a harsh,auto-only environment. This allows a higher density in a way that frames the public
realm and provides for a higher-value development.
