Olson 33 NW 32nd Street Buffalo, MN 55313 Re: City of Pequot Lakes Potential City Code Violation PIN: 290263102L00009 4765 Olson Road Dear Mr. and Mrs. Olson: It has come to our attention through several complaints that you may be in violation of `.. the City Code regarding Shoreline Alteration. The City Code states in Section 17-11.8 LAND USE PERMITS that "No person shall assemble, install, repair, remodel, remove or construct any structure prior to applying for and receiving a Land Use Permit. " The City Code further states in Section 17-7.9 VEGETATION REMOVAL that "No vegetation shall be removed along the shoreline, within shore impact zones, on steep slopes, and within bluff impact zones, except in conjunction with an approved site preparation or land alteration permit to accommodate the placement of stairways, landings, access paths, or authorized shoreland alterations. " The City Code also states in Section 17-7.13 GRADING that "The following activities must be authorized by permit ... (A) Grading and filling in the shore or bluff impact zone; (D.)Any alterations of the natural topography when the slope of the land is toward a public water or watercourse involving the movement of more than 10 cubic yards of material in a bluff or shore impact zone... " I have been to your property and taken the enclosed photographs.
