There is no issue with the directional sign on West Lake Street. It will be two sided and
lit.
Mr. Kaneski requested the sign change possibly twice a day. It would not be as bright as
the BP sign,no LED bulbs. The Planning Commission stated they would like to see an
example of the proposed sign.
A motion was made by Dean Williams, seconded by Bill Habein,to approve the
Conditional Use Permit for a Drive-thru,based on the following Findings of Fact.
1. The request for a Conditional Use Permit is to all a drive-thru as part of a
redevelopment project for the Oasis building. The Co hensiv Ian does not specifically°ecificall address this request but allows for
the use o development within the City.
10. The propose t se would be the first drive-thru restaurant in this area. This is not
compatible wYth the existing zoning classification which is geared towards
pedestrians. However, it would be compatible with the way the existing lot is
currently developed which is geared towards automobile traffic. Conditions
imposed on the use would aid in the compatibility of the proposed use.
11. The proposed use, with conditions, would not be injurious to the public health,
safety, welfare, decency, order, comfort, convenience, appearance or prosperity of
the City in that the drive-thru would`be consistent with current traffic patterns in
this area.
Minutes 4
Pequot Lakes Planning Commission
Special Meeting
February 22 2010
