1 LONG-TERM ACTIONS (5 YEARS AND BEYOND): <br /> 2 ❑ <br /> 3 PREVIOUSLY COMPLETED ACTIONS <br /> 4 ❑ Monitor commercial development along roadways by adopting a zoning strategy that strengthens the <br /> 5 downtown commercial area, permits sensible development, and retains forested gateways leading into <br /> 6 Pequot Lakes. <br /> 7 ❑ Develop zoning strategies that facilitate the removal of blighted and un-maintained properties (cars on <br /> 8 front lawn,etc)that detracts from Pequot's character. <br /> 9 ❑ Provide for orderly business development in clustered, properly zoned development areas in the City. <br /> 10 ❑ Designate a rural, urban, and rural/urban transition zone in order to maintain the integrity of these <br /> 11 distinct areas.
