ORDINANCE NO. 13-03, SECOND SERIES AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9,ARTICLE 2 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO LICENSING AND REGULATING THE KEEPING OF DOGS CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES COUNTY OF CROW WING STATE OF MINNESOTA The City Council of the City of Pequot Lakes does ordain as follows: Purpose and Intent. The purpose and intent of this ordinance amendment is to amend Chapter 9, of the Pequot Lakes City Code relating to licensing and regulating the keeping of Dogs within the City of Pequot Lakes. Amendment. Chapter 9, Article 2, Section 9-2.5 shall be amended as follows: Section 9-2.6. IMPOUNDING OF DOGS RUNNING AT LARGE The designated Animal Control Officer may take up and impound any dog found running at large within the City of Pequot Lakes. If the animal is wearing a tag for the current license period,then the Animal Control Officer shall mail notice of impoundment to the owner, within twenty-four(24) hours of said impoundment,the notice to be sent to the owner at the address given to the City Clerk's office at the time the tag is obtained. A dog so impounded shall be held by the pound master for a maximum of seven(7) days, and may be reclaimed by its owner within that time by payment to the pound master of the impounding fees. If the owner of the dog refuses to pick up the impounded dog from the pound master,the owner shall be required to reimburse the City for any costs associated with the impoundment of the dog. Effective Date. This ordinance amendment shall be in full force and effect from and after passage and publication according to state law.
