3. Keep all equipment of the water department in proper repair to assure <br /> constant and trouble free service to the customer. <br /> 4. Work with the City Clerk regarding service to customers as changes <br /> become necessary. <br /> 5. Assist City Clerk with collection of late or overdue accounts. <br /> 6. Notify the City Clerk of any irregularities or City Code violations. <br /> Section 15-2.4. RULES <br /> All provisions of this Chapter, where the term customer is used, shall be construed as <br /> including the owner of the premises served. This provides that any delinquencies in the <br /> payment of water bills on the said premises shall be a lien and charges against the <br /> premises so served regardless of whether the same be homestead or not. Said lien in the <br /> case of delinquency, shall be reported to the County Auditor by the City Clerk at the <br /> same time and in the same manner as special assessment on real estate and shall be <br /> collected in the same manner as taxes against real estate provided, however; that nothing <br /> herein shall change the provisions of this Chapter with reference to shutting off water for <br /> nonpayment of charges. <br /> Section 15-2.5. APPLICATION <br /> In addition to Section 4, this application will include intended use and estimated volume <br /> thereof for purposes of regulating water consumption. A copy of this Chapter and rate <br /> structure will be provided upon request. No individual or contractor will be permitted to <br /> tap into the city water supply unless under the supervision of the Public Works <br /> Supervisor or its designee. Any municipal connection fees will be due at this time. <br /> Section 15-2.6. RATES,FEES AND BILLING <br /> No water will be supplied to any customer without receipt of a meter fee as set by the <br /> City Council. <br /> The City Council shall adopt by ordinance a schedule of water rates, fees and meter fee. <br /> Said ordinance shall be published once in the official newspaper of the City. The City <br /> may make an annual revision of said schedule based upon annual reports together with a <br /> working budget to determine any needs for changes in this schedule. <br /> Section 15-2.7. BILLING <br /> All bills for water service furnished and supplied by the city shall be payable monthly, by <br /> the last day of each month. Meter readings will be taken and billings sent to customers on <br /> or about the first week of each month. <br />
