CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES,MINNESOTA <br /> CITY COUNCIL RESOLUTION 14-26 <br /> A RESOLUTION ADOPTING ASSESSMENTS FOR <br /> UNPAID SERVICE CHARGES <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to proper notice duly given as required by law, the City <br /> Council of the City of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, met on the 12th day of November, 2014, <br /> for the purpose of considering assessing costs incurred by the City against the real estate <br /> benefited pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, sections 366.012, 415.01, 429.101, 444.075 and <br /> 514.67 and Pequot Lakes City Code, sections 5-6.5(4), 15-2.4, and 13-2.4. The unpaid <br /> charges relate to one or more of the following: water and sewer service, <br /> repair/replacement of water meters, water tap fees,the removal of rubbish,junk, debris, <br /> weeds or snow/ice from the property, or other miscellaneous unpaid charges pursuant to <br /> applicable law; and <br /> WHEREAS,a public hearing was held pursuant to said notice as part of the <br /> above-referenced City Council meeting; and <br /> WHEREAS,the assessment roll and other matters brought before the City Council <br /> were duly considered. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of <br /> Pequot Lakes, Minnesota, that <br /> 1. The assessment roll, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, <br /> is hereby accepted and adopted, shall constitute a special assessment against the <br /> lands described, and each tract of land is hereby found to be benefited in the <br /> amount of the assessment levied against it and such amount is found to be <br /> reasonable under the City's regulatory authority. <br /> 2. The owner of the property assessed may, at any time prior to certification to the <br /> County Auditor,pay the assessment to the City Clerk. <br /> 3. The City Clerk shall forthwith transmit a certified copy of said assessment roll <br /> to the County Auditor of Crow Wing County and such assessments shall be <br /> collected and paid in the same manner as property taxes, if not paid prior to the <br /> time for certification. <br /> PASSED by the City Council of the City of Pequot Lakes this 12th day of <br /> November, 2014. <br /> Nancy A s <br /> Mayor <br /> 1 <br />
