(c) The sign shall not exceed a brightness level of 0.3 <br /> �. candles above ambient light as measured 100 feet <br /> from the sign. <br /> B. Recreational District. <br /> (1) Each Recreationally zoned development may be allowed <br /> on-site signage as regulated by a conditional use permit. <br /> Unless otherwise allowed, the size of any single sign shall <br /> not exceed 48 square feet in area and shall not exceed 10 <br /> feet from the ground to the top of the sign. <br /> (2) A parcel of land may have internal directional signs that are <br /> related to the operation of the recreational facility. <br /> (3) No signage shall be allowed to direct any light on to an <br /> adjacent parcel of land. <br /> C. Directory Signs. <br /> (1) To facilitate economic growth and reduce the overall <br /> amount of signage within the City, the City of Pequot <br /> Lakes may, at its discretion, establish directory signs in any <br /> zone. Directory signs should be in lieu of other signage, <br /> such as an existing off-site sign or signage provided by the <br /> Minnesota Department of Transportation. <br /> D. Residential Districts including Rural Residential, Transition <br /> Residential, Shoreline Residential, and Urban Residential. <br /> (1) Area Identification Signs are permitted by Conditional use <br /> Permit in the residential districts listed above and must <br /> meet the following criteria: <br /> (a) The size of the sign shall not exceed 32 square feet <br /> in area. <br /> (b) The sign shall not exceed eight (8) feet in height, as <br /> measured from the existing ground elevation to the <br /> top of the sign. Any landscaping, grading, structure, <br /> or other material that raises the level of the existing <br /> elevation of the ground shall be included in the <br /> height of the sign. <br /> (c) Any such sign shall be erected only on a corner lot <br /> at the intersection of local or collector streets with <br /> collector or arterial roadways and only on property <br /> that is a part of the residential development <br /> identified herein. <br />
