The Planning Commission can
either recommend that the City Council approve the classification and intended sale or
recommend the City Council not support the proposal.
The Planning Commission may also recommend that the property be
classified as non-conservation AND request that it be offered to the other Y2
interest property owner by direct sale to that party.
Staff Recommendation: Although the subject property is non-conforming because it
does not meet the minimum size requirement for the Forest Management Zone, it may
still be developed in the future. We find no reason why it should not be able to be sold by
the County. We recommend that the county should offer the property to the other half
interest property owner by direct sale before auctioning the subject 1/2 interest
ownership to the general public.
Pequot Lakes Staff Report 7(a)-2
February 21,2012
