Commu rrrY peciuo I
GROVVrrH
INSTITUTE
i
GATEWAY DISCUSSION
Background Information: The Planning Commission should discuss the "vision" for
the "Gateways" into Pequot Lakes. This meeting, particular focus should be given to
CSAH ii,east of Bergquist Drive to the proposed HighwaY371 realignment.
At the last meeting, the Planning Commission discussed a complex street section that
should be designed for the area between Bergquist Drive and the current Highway 371.
This section of street already contains developed areas and should be designed with high
attention to detail.A draft memo derived from the Planning Commission discussion last
month is attached for review.
The street section east of Bergquist Drive to the proposed Highway 371 alignment is less
developed and should be constructed differently than the rest of CSAH 11. The design,
however, should allow for intensification of the public realm as this corridor develops.
Discussion Items:
• Bike/Snowmobile Trail
• Driving Lanes
• Sidewalks/crosswalks
• Parking
• Lighting
• Median
• Curb/gutter
• Landscaping
Pequot Lakes Staff Report 1
April 18,2013
