June 14, 2013
Cheri Seils and
Planning and Zoning Commission
I want to thank the Commission's firm stand on the signage policy for
the City of Pequot Lakes.
Recent front page articles in the BRAINERD DISPATCH should
remind both businesses and residents that the distraction of size and
animation of signs can be dangerous. Visitors and residents may also
see these signs as very unattractive.
At this time, I believe the south and north approaches to the City, along
#371, are clean and woodsy. Please keep it that way. County Road #11
going from west to east is more congested.
-- On June 1, I was driving south on #371, and just past The Treehouse a
huge black Escalade with dealer plates actually made a U-turn in the
middle of the highway, thus turning from north to south, to pull into the
"motor vehicle lot" that is sporting free hot dogs SIGNS.
I have worked in various jobs along #371 for 18 years, from Nisswa to
Pine River, so I observe signage each day and all day. Hold your line on
policy! Today we can be proud of the image the City of Pequot Lakes
shows to its residents and visitors.
Sincerely,
Ann Hutchings
Resident
568-5102
cc Dawn Bittner
