10.2. Consider Property Purchase
Council Member Sjoblad reported that the Buschmann property is listed at
$30,000. The Council discussed the pros and cons of purchasing the
property.
The Council discussed using the property for parking and possibly a
restroom. The Council also discussed the option of selling the property in
the future for commercial development. Council Member Sjoblad stated
that the house is condemned and must come down. It was also noted that
the property would have to be checked for possible environmental issues.
The Clerk noted that the Planning Commission would have to consider the
acquisition and determine whether it will comply with the City's
comprehensive plan.
It was the consensus of the Council to have the Planning Commission
review the proposed purchase and report back to the Council indicating
whether the acquisition would comply with the City's comprehensive plan.
It was also the consensus of the Council to contact WSN to see what it
would cost to check for possible environmental hazards on the property.
D.
