3 <br /> i <br /> i <br /> 1 <br /> f <br /> 9.2. North Washington Street Design Concepts <br /> Tim Houle reviewed street concepts with the Council. Council discussion <br /> was held regarding the two concepts provided by WSN. Peter and Jean <br /> Herzog were present and noted that they are residential homeowners on <br /> the corner of Oriole and Washington. Mr. Herzog stated that if a sidewalk <br /> were placed in front of his home the City's ordinance would require him to <br /> keep the snow removed from the sidewalk. He indicated that he does not <br /> mind a sidewalk but does not want to maintain the sidewalk. Mr. Herzog <br /> further stated that he was disappointed that he was not informed of the <br /> proposed road improvement. He also reminded the Council of the <br /> elevation and the water problems in the area. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO APPROVE THE <br /> ONE WAY DESIGN BUT TO DESIGN THE PROJECT SO THAT A <br /> SIDEWALK CAN BE ADDED IN THE FUTURE. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Discussion was held regarding where curb and gutter would be installed. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER WITHDREW MOTION. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON WITHDREW HIS SECOND. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO USE THE ONE- <br /> WAY STREET CONCEPT WITH CURB AND GUTTER UP TO <br /> ORIOLE AND TO RESOLVE THE WATER ISSUE. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED THAT THE SIDEWALK <br /> IN THE DRAWINGS IN THE ONE WAY STREET BE INCLUDED <br /> IN THE PLAN. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD WITH DREW HIS MOTION. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON WITHDREW HIS SECOND. <br /> 9.3• Discussion on Roadway Turnbacks <br /> Tim Houle stated that a committee had met to discuss the turnback of <br /> roadways from the County. He explained that the City is considering the <br /> turnback of 6 additional roadway miles.The Committee has requested <br /> direction from the Council regarding whether the Council wants to accept <br /> the turnbacks. He noted that the most pressing issue is the turnback of <br /> Highway 371.
